Seeking Consistent Income in Retirement

Creating opportunities when seeking a steady stream of income in retirement.
The Challenge

The Client

A recently retired professional relying on investment income to sustain lifestyle in retirement.

The Objective

Assist the client in seeking to generate a steady stream of income in retirement.

Our Assignment
  • Provide a consistent income for the client that’s not reliant on a paycheck and can account for a long retirement period.
  • Maintain prospects for capital appreciation.
Our Solution

A Dynamic Buy-Write Strategy

Our Goldman Sachs Core Premium Income ETFs implement a dynamic buy-write strategy that invests in a core index portfolio of stocks and writes (sells) call options, seeking to generate income while maintaining prospects for capital appreciation.

The Outcome

By investing the client’s assets in our dynamic buy-write strategy ETFs (the Goldman Sachs Core Premium Income ETFs) we seek to provide:

Monthly Income

The Goldman Sachs Core Premium Income ETFs seek to deliver attractive and reliable income, primarily from options premium and equity dividends, distributed to investors monthly. The income can also help clients meet required minimum distributions if used in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs).

Core Equity Exposure with Potential For Capital Appreciation

Investing in a core index portfolio of stocks and dynamically selling call options, our Core Premium Income ETFs allow for participation with rising markets and potential outperformance in negative to flat markets. Our ETFs dynamically adjust options coverage, seeking a consistent monthly distribution rate and higher potential upside capture, increasing potential for capital appreciation and thus a higher dollar amount of income over time.

Diversifying Source of Income

Our variable coverage buy-write strategies seek to deliver an attractive income with lower correlation to traditional income sources and their risks.
